Man Steals Rolls-Royce Cullinan, Crashes It Into Fast Food

Rolls-Royces, particularly the ultra-luxury Cullinan, have increasingly become targets for theft at valet stands. However, for one suspect in Fort Lauderdale, the joyride ended almost as quickly as it began. After swiping a $400,000 Rolls-Royce Cullinan, the man lost control and crashed it into a Checkers fast food restaurant, leaving the pristine SUV in ruins.

The incident began when police noticed the stolen Cullinan and attempted a traffic stop. Rather than complying, the suspect panicked and fled, trying to outrun the authorities in the powerful British SUV. Unfortunately for him, the Cullinan’s size and immense power proved too much to handle. Just a few miles into the escape, the driver lost control and collided with the restaurant, ironically located across the street from the sheriff's office.

The owner of the Rolls-Royce, staying at a hotel nearby, woke up to the shocking news that his luxury SUV had been stolen. According to WPLG, the suspect had two active warrants—one from California and another from Broward County, Florida—likely contributing to his decision to flee from police.

The incident raises questions about valet security. While valet services are convenient for luxury car owners, the theft highlights a critical issue: the lack of secure systems for safeguarding car keys. Valets often prioritize speed and efficiency, but this can leave vehicles vulnerable to opportunistic thieves.

Some owners, wary of valet risks, have adopted alternative approaches, such as parking their own vehicles in valet lots while retaining the keys. While this incident might serve as a warning to others, for the unfortunate Rolls-Royce owner, it’s a reminder of the risks that come with trusting luxury vehicles to valet services.

In the end, the suspect not only failed to escape but turned one of the world’s most prestigious SUVs into a crumpled wreck, ending his joyride in dramatic—and highly public—fashion.
